Back to Glaze Colors
We now offer a line of tile colors that are called stains. Unlike glazes, these stains have no glass-forming ingredients. The firing process fuses the stain color to the tile surface.
The stained surface is a dry matte finish with an antique, weathered quality. Tiles colored with stains are best suited for dry locations. However, with the application of a tile sealer, they could be placed in a shower, bath, or near the sink.
Sepia stain: a warm reddish-brown color.
Antique brown: a somewhat darker brown than sepia, with warm undertones.
Brown-black: a nice neutral tone that is somewhere between brown and black.
Antique black: a rich black color fading to grey where thinner.
